Access 97 problem with JDK 1.3 and up

I am implementing a client-server database application using Oracle8i in the production environment and occassionally using Access97 on my own machine for testing. If I stick to JDK1.2.2 I'm fine, but if I try to use any of the newer JDK's, then I always get this error when I try to connect to the Access database:
ResultSet is closed
This only occurs with Access97. I can use any version of the JDK with Oracle.
The reason I ask the question is that I've run into another problem with JDK1.2.2 and Access that is supposedly resolved if you use a newer version of the JDK.
I'd appreciate it if anyone can shed some light on this problem.

there are so many different problems with access that you will have to post the offending code to give you an answer.
-could be that you can only have one statement open for each connection...if you try to open another statement it closes the original statement(which in turn closes the resultset that you may be using)...
If you are used to working on Oracle and are moving to access for testing I suggest you search the forum in advance to alert you to the many problems programmers encounter over and over...just so you don't pull your hair out saying "I swear this code worked with Oracle!!?? why is it flubbing out now??"
I agree. Here's the link:
