I think we need a little more context, as "file upload" can mean many things, most of them not the sort of thing usually done by EJBs. Please tell us more about what you need to do.

There r two things u need to know.
First, file is uploaded using MultipartRequest class on ur server.
Second, It is converted into byte Array which is stored as BLOB object in Oracle database.
u can use TOPLink for this mapping. otherwise it is bit complex.
Now i think u would be much more confused. But only after I come to know of ur confusion i can assess ur level of understanding of the subject.. Hope to hear big questions from u soon

u first let know what ejb are they are executed on server and not at clinet side whereas file upload is to upload the file from client side toserver side so implement it in clinet code at client side and not at server
