I've downloaded jakarta-tomcat3.1.1.zip and i unzipped into a
folder and renamed it as tomcat.
i've set the following:
set JAVA_HOME=d:\jdk1.3
set TOMCAT_HOME=c:\tomcat
And i commented the "echo off" in the tomcat.bat and startup.bat
when i type startup:
c:\tomcat\bin>startup
the server is going off.
And some java folder is opening.
please help me.

It's not clear from your message whether you actually have a problem. After you type startup, try opening a web browser like Netscape or IE and surf to http://localhost:8080/
Do you see the default tomcat page? If so, everything is working fine.
If there is no response when surfing to localhost, then there must really be some problem. You'll have to explain further what you mean by "the server is going off" and "some java folder is opening".

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
