Hi All,

I am working in a MNC from the last 22 months in J2EE technologies.
Prior to this, I have taken training in one of (E)ducation & (T)raianing division of some other company. I paid the money and they havent given any offer letter, they didnt paid any stipend and at the end (when asked) , they have given a certicate saying that I completed x,y,z courses in their E & T division. Will this certificate serve as an experince letter???
My present compnay hasn't considered this 6 months training experience and has taken me as a fresher.
These are my queries...

When I am switching to another job,

can I tell them that I have 22 months of work experince in .. company and 6 months of training experince. i.e overall 28 months of IT experience.

Will they accept me if I match to their reqts for 28 months??

or

just I have to forget about my 6 months trying experince and continue applying with my 22 months present experience.

Please help me as I am in a confusion and
any pointers on these will be highly appreciated..

Regards
Srinivas

Your experience is considered only 22 months as you took training in E & T Division. If E & T has given you experience certificate instead of Certification then you are eligible for claiming 6 months experience.

I can suggest you one thing to make your resume more effective. You can show your 22 months exp as: 1.5+ yrs Exp or Around 2 yrs Exp. But by keeping Around 2 yrs Exp makes your resume more catching then 1.5+ yrs. So by keeping second option you may get more interview calls as it is read as 2 yrs exp.

I will follow your suggestion.I will put experince as "around 2+ exp" (2 months).

My only concern is
coming to know that initial 6 months of training in my career is waste.

Is there any way I can tell them that I had training and ask for better pay.

..
ok, I will have to forget about this and once agin thanks for your reply

Why not. In your resume show the first 6 months that you did the training and for proof you have the certification. If you are from non computer background it will help you lot to tell the interviewer that how you got computer basics. Also it will be useful during the visa processing
