This week's book giveaway is in the OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring forum. We're giving away four copies of Refactoring for Software Design Smells: Managing Technical Debt and have Girish Suryanarayana, Ganesh Samarthyam & Tushar Sharma on-line! See this thread for details.
I am trying to connect to DB2 from a JSP. I'm using Websphere Application Server 4.0 running under OS390. I keep getting a server-side error (I don't yet know how to see what the error is). Do I use the following driver? "COM.ibm.db2os390.sqlj.jdbc.DB2SQLJDriver" or since I am not (yet) using SQLJ should it be: "COM.ibm.db2os390.jdbc.DB2Driver" ? My URL is: "jdbc b2os390 BT1" where DBT1 is the local DBT instance. Omitting the try/catch statements I have: String db2Driver = "ibm.sql.DB2Driver"; String url = "jdbc b2os390 BT1"; Connection con; Class.forName(db2Driver); con = DriverManager.getConnection (url); . . . con.close();
