Hi..anyone knows about the software scene in Dubai?..I have had some headhunters calling me for Java/J2EE positions in Dubai..any software people in Dubai, please inform me about the companies there..salaries..etc..i was offered 5500 AED by one headhunter..is that ok for a 6 years experienced person? what about growth as a software profesional in dubai? and culture?..number of software professionals in dubai?..any info will help..thanks.

Dubai seems to be growing as far as IT is concerned. I have couple of friends there. Salary you mentioned seems to be very low.

Salary is tooooo low, you can manage more than this in India then why should one go to Dubai, I think it should be minimum of 8000 AED.

And yes, medical, house, car everythig should be provided from your compnay remeber in Dubai compnay keep your passport , so you can't shift like india for better salary or something. And if you leave that company mid way then you can entered to Dubai for next 1.5 yrs ..Huh !!! so better to take excellent offer in the starting it self.

How much is 1 AED? BTW, I beleive Dubai is tax free -- so your take-home is as good as your gross.

1 AED = 11.85479 Indian Rupee (INR)
1 US Dollar = 3.67320 Utd. Arab Emir. Dirham
