MySql or Cloudscape?

i am creatin a small application...mostly to learn java....
I now want to get into databases and java...
I need to select one...
MySql or Cloudscape?
Any advice on which to pick?

Never used cloudscape but I use mySQL al the time here at work and it ia nice, fast, free database. There are a couple of frontends available for it too from the mysql website that aren't half bad.

Ive been using MySQL for over a year now, both on local machines & web sites. Great product and FAST. Its also very easy to learn.

Hmm... I haven't had much experience with mySQL. Could you post some links to some of those frontends you mentioned. Thanks.
 
I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
