JDBC:ODBC without ODBC data source?

Is it possible to access a database with jdbcodbc bridge without generating an ODBC data source?
I have learned in the MS world it is possible to do something like this:
"Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};Dbq=c:\somepath\dbname.mdb;Uid=Admin;Pwd=pass;"
The above allows to access an Access DB without configuring an ODBC data source.
Can this be done in JAVA? How can this be done?
Kind regards

I'm only reposting because spacing matters, and after editing out those graemlins, I believe their will be spacing I have this code piece ready for this post! REMEMBER, cut and paste with exact spacing the code and only change the name of your database and the location (without messing the spaces up!)

[now with disabled smilies...rrrr!]
I agree. Here's the link:
