Would any one explain to me in details the following please: "jdbc racle:thin:@22.214.171.124:1527 MS", "scott", "tiger" please show sample code(just the url) how to access local database and remote database. Thanks
jdbc racle:thin is the driver type @126.96.36.199 is the Oracle Server IP :1527 is the port number :MS is the Sid, you nead a : there not a space. "scott" is the user "tiger" is the password. You should be able to get them from your DBA. and if they already have a DNS name for the server you can use that instead of the IP address. Port 1521 is the default, so if they use that, that is what it is. Mark [ May 16, 2002: Message edited by: Mark Spritzler ]
