I am getting extremely frustrated with getting the oracle jdbc to work in websphere application developer. In the test environ, the error stack is java.lang.ClassCastException:java.lang,String at oracle.jdbc.driver.OraclePreparedStatement.setObject
Does anyone knows how to configure the test environment as in the resource, data sources, etc? Thanks in advance....

post the relevant code. This problem is not an environment or jdbc problem, just a regular java problem.

You may be right Jamie. In fact, the java code was generated using the wsad database wizard which uses the controller, details and masterview beans. It imports the com.ibm.db.beans.* libraries and I don't see any standard jdbc call to oracle. But that wizard is supposed to be idiotproof for other databases, rite? Anyone has experience with the self generated wizard to work with Oracle or is the generated code wrong in the first place?

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
