How do you connect to the database?
Try post the code.

The only things that I have come accross that might cause this is:
1. mispelled/non-existant username or password for connecting
2. firewall issues not letting you access the database

Hi ,
Please try this syntax to connect to the database it really worked for me:
String url = "jdbc racle:thin:@(DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST =(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = <hostname> (PORT = <port> ))(CONNECT_DATA =(SERVICE_NAME = <servicename> ))";
.getConnection(url,"username", "password");
