I've got a cloudscape database that I'm trying to access through cloudview. I can get cloudview up and running no problem, but when I try to open the database through File->Open, nothing happens, and the mouse pointer shows that the Menubar is waiting...waiting. I ran ij no problem with the same database. I'm using cloudscape.jar, cloudview.jar and cloudutil.jar from J2EE1.3.1 but not within the J2EE environ. Not sure if anyone has run into this problem or not but I thought that I'd check anyways. Was going to put this is J2EE/EJB but I'm not running it in J2EE. Thanks.
I had the same problem, and after mucking through a bunch of out-dated links I found a message board saying that the version of cloudscape that came with the J2EE download was buggy. Go to cloudscape.com (it'll take you to IBM) and click on downloads. Grab the "Cloudview for 4.0 J2EE". Hope this helps. I also needed to reconfigure my firewall to allow any requests from 127.0.0.1, which you may want to check if you're running one. I'm not sure which port it uses, though.

Thanks...it's up and running no prob. You'd think they'd include a working version w/ J2EE or at least offer cloudscape on IBM's site.
I’ve looked at a lot of different solutions, and in my humble opinion Aspose is the way to go. Here’s the link: http://aspose.com
