I'm just wondering what's regarded as the best jdbc driver to use?
What free jdbc drivers are out there also. And which of these are best?
Also if any of you use JRun 3.1 as your application web server then what's best for that also?

The driver you use will be greatly influenced, if not dictated, by the database you are using.
I would suggest trying to get a driver from the vendor of the DB you are using. If that is not possible, try looking for 3rd party vendors.

"Whiteemerson",
The Java Ranch has thousands of visitors every week, many with surprisingly similar names. To avoid confusion we have a naming convention, described at http://www.javaranch.com/name.jsp.
We require names to have at least two words, separated by a space, and strongly recommend that you use your full real name. Please edit your profile and select a new name which meets the requirements.
Thanks.
Dave

You can find the list of jdbc drivers for MS SQL server available on http://industry.java.sun.com/products/jdbc/drivers
or you can download jdbc driver from microsoft
http://msdn.microsoft.com/downloads/default.asp?URL=/downloads/sample.asp?url=/MSDN-FILES/027/001/779/msdncompositedoc.xml
and for sample code
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q313100&

Hope, this helps out.

Do you know if the JDBC drivers come with MS SQL Server 2000 when you install it, or do you have to go and download them afterwards (Don't want to be overwriting drivers if they already exist?
If they have to be donwloaded then I will do so as you suggest.

Cheers for the help by the way.
