MS SQL JDBC Driver

My company wants me to use MS SQL instead of MySQL (which I am currently using). To keep from having to use ODBC (slowwwww) I am planning on using MS JDBC Driver for SQL 2K.
Could I have some comments on this Driver please? Does it provide enough functionallity (ie Transactions, Stored Procedures, etc)? Is it stable (I mean, it is a MS product )?
