In JDBC API documentation, it states that "For maximum portability, result set columns within each row should be read in left-to-right order, and each column should be read only once."
Does "left-to-right order" mean the order of the columns listed in the SELECT statement?

Thanks,<br />Mike

I believe so, but this is the way I've always done it by default anyway
(i need a 'hmm' emoticon that is one step less than the confused image, like a thoughtful expression)

MS SQL database requires that. I have also noticed that some MS SQL drivers require that result set returned from a stored procedure be read before any OUT parameters.
