This week's giveaway is in the EJB and other Java EE Technologies forum. We're giving away four copies of EJB 3 in Action and have Debu Panda, Reza Rahman, Ryan Cuprak, and Michael Remijan on-line! See this thread for details.
Connection Pools really have nothing to do with Swing. In fact, JDBC has nothing to do with SWING. You can use them with Anything. So the answer to your question is yes. As far as the code example...You are kidding, right? Do you want a SWING example or a JDBC example? A combination of the two? What is it that you don't know how to do which requires an example? Do you know Swing? Do you know how to use the JDBC API? Your request for a code example for one is too broad. Second, ranchers are relunctant to hand out code when you yourself have not provided any yourself. If you write some code, and are having problems, post what you have so far and we will help you resolve your issues.
