are there any free JDBC drivers available for MS SQL??
i am aware of jtds available on sourceforge but it seems to have certain limitations when using preparedstatement and getrow()

MS SQL?
I guess you mean Microsoft's SQL Server..
If so, MS provides you with the 'official' JDBC driver.
you can download it from the MS SQL server webpage.
