Different "Number of Posts" on different pages

Isn't the "number of posts" that appears at the bottom of each post, the *total number of posts by that user till date*?
If so, why is it that i see different numbers on different pages against my name, at the same time?

Here's what i am seeing:

I dont think that this a browser cache issue(or is it?), since i tried opening these pages in different browsers(one in IE and other in FireFox).

The forum software itself caches pages; changes to post counts, display names, etc, won't be reflected immediately on all pages, but only when a page is regenerated.
