Isn't the "number of posts" that appears at the bottom of each post, the *total number of posts by that user till date*?
If so, why is it that i see different numbers on different pages against my name, at the same time?

Here's what i am seeing:

At: http://www.coderanch.com/t/63002/open-source/Logging-different-files-based-parameters
Number of posts: 227

At:
http://www.coderanch.com/t/63003/open-source/extending-eclipse-plugins
Number of posts: 228

At:
http://www.coderanch.com/t/54208/Struts/help-cannot-find-resource-welcome Number of posts : 233

I dont think that this a browser cache issue(or is it?), since i tried opening these pages in different browsers(one in IE and other in FireFox).

The forum software itself caches pages; changes to post counts, display names, etc, won't be reflected immediately on all pages, but only when a page is regenerated.
