Hi All,

I am working in a MNC,Pune from past few months.. I am from a small city in Karnataka..
I worked for an year as trainee and later I worked in a company near to my place for an year in contract basis. Then I shifted to another company and worked there for 5 months..
In all companies my performance was very appreciated.. but the salary level I was getting was not so gud compared to the cities lika Bangalore and Pune. Later because of some personal reasons..I got shifted to pune..and I joined a new job here...Now I get 15k per month

Here I am not satisfyed with the kind of work I am doing..
Also I feel I get less salary too. So I am searching for better opportunities.

As I have changed my jobs so frequently ..will it affect my career?
I have almost 2.7 years of experience and my main skillsets include:
Plz help me to figureout what salary I should demand for my next job..
what is the pay scale for a candidate with 2+ years of experience in Pune..
As I have changed my jobs so frequently, will it affect my career any way?

Well Aastha,

Changing companies so frequently (u ve already in ur 4th company in just 2.7 years)definitely doenst please a HR manager, I think u agree!! And yeah, u are getting less salary for ur experience...

Well, ur in ur 4th job now..and u should have demanded more salary before moving into this job...Well, but that mainly depends on how much ur drawing in ur previous job..right..? How long have u been working in this firm..?

If u want to make a switch now...Negotiate the salary well so that u dont have to think of changing again soon... ;-) Or.. stay here for a while,(if u find ur salary is not too meagre..!!), u must be already leading a team now, else get to that role in this firm, and finish around 1 year here and go out..

Well,if u already have a good offer, take ur chances...
And remember, when the bad time starts, people who hop so frequently are the ones first plucked out...

If ur getting a paypacket of 15k pm now.. u shouldnt settle for anything less than 25k-8k now + A next level .. (yes, 2.7 yrs and if ur really good, companies like Kanbay & CSC pay it!!) ..So go for it!!

All The Best!!!

Definitely during long run your career will be affected. If your resume showing 3 to 4 companies in 2.7 years how your recruiter is going to believe that you are going to stay with them for long time? If you take a project atleast it will take 6 months to 1 year to understand the architecture and gain domain knowledge. So first six months you wont be much productive to company. So if you leave a company in six months its a loss to company. From your point of view you need atleast six months to proof yourself to your boss, by the time you proof yourself you are leaving company so that your are also loosing.

Moreover when you are growing its takes time to adjust with company. If you are a developer you just need to satisfy your PL but if you are PL you need to make satisfy your team as well as your boss. So its much difficult to change company when you are senior.

Many people shifts company for salary hike. But I feel even though you changed many companies in your 2.7 years your salary is not comparitive.

So try to stay atleast 2 years.

Thanks to Mr Raja and Mr Reddy.
Thanks for your valuable suggetion.

I agree that my profile includes frequest job changed..
But they were very necessary.. I left my first job as my training ended there..
and second one as my contract ended there.. 3rd one I had to leave as I got married and my husband stayes in pune..
In the company where I work, I am not satisfied with the way project is getting managed.. less appreciation too..

So I thought of trying for gud companies..

AW I'll ry to stay here for at least one year..

True you have valid reasons. But your next company may not give chance to hear all the valid reasons rite?

You need to provide all valid reasons in your next company. And when you change your next company take a decision that whatever the reason you wont change the company for next 2 years. If work is not so bad then stay in present company itself. Regarding salary always you can talk with your Manager. But suggest you that proof yourself and talk with your manager.
