Your salary is ok for your experience and for current salary. Since how long you are working with iGate? If it is more than 2 years then go ahead and join Mindtree.

I feel 3.4 l is bit less for 2.2 years experience ,If you have good experience of cmm level 5 companies(iGate is one good company)+BE/MCA degree ,you can ask for around 4.5-5 l .
I hope it should not be problem, you can ask them to re consider the offer.
sometimes it work.

Hi Guru

Is the offer from Mindtree bangalore or hyderabad. I heard that work culture in bangalore is very good. It used to be one of my preferred companies until I attended their interview in a cheap hotel. The process was very unprofessional. I have to attend my HR interview in the hotel lobby.

Later I came to know from HR that hyderabad setup works exclusively for GE and so I didn't consider the offer.

Cheers

Actually from what I remember, it used to be hot something like 5 years back? when they started it. Not sure if it holds true even now.

Yes that is true. sometime back from Ajay Soota left Wipro and started Mindtree it was creme de la creme kind of company and they took only IIMs and IITians.

Slowly they moved down to premier institutes and now I believe considering the IT "Gold Rush" happening, they would have gone down further in their cutoffs.

Unfortunately for the IT industry, most good companies are going low on quality and more on volumes. And in the name of maintaining margins, they save costs on things like conducting interviews in cheap hotels.

Yup! + I guess its difficult for desi firms to compete in terms of pay with say a google and the likes making it all the more difficult to retain good talent let alone attracting new ones!.
