Hello World, Even before staring the JDBC coding, how do I find out the type and name of the driver from the system settings.....(I have jdk and a DB is installed already...), is there any intuitive way to find this out? Please forgive my innocence....

Well, as far as I know, it depends on your database. There are many drivers that you can choose from. So if you're using MySql, there's a particular driver that you use for *that* database. The same with oracle, sql server, etc.
