PreparedStatement.seString does not work

while I am hardcoding a string input to a varchar2 field it is working, but while doing setString() this value is not getting set as a result I am not getting any value.
Can anybody please help on it.

Can you show some code? What does your query look like? How do you set the string? And how exactly do you know that it didn't work?
