Friends,

After sending out PMs to some of the fellow ranchers and waiting for their reply I finally decided to go public.

I have about 1 year of experience in java/j2ee in the financial industry. I have been trying to find a junior/entry level job from past 6 months but no luck. This is really frustrating and depressing. Every day counts and adds to the gap. I'm worried and totally losing all the hopes of becoming a successful, independent individual. I'm now thinking of taking a deviation and would greatly appreciate any help/advice/suggestions. These are the three options I shortlisted( last 2 because I want to have a less stressful job as I have a family)
1. SAP( take training and look for job. Heard there are lot of opportunities)
2. Date Warehousing( less stressful just what I want)
3. Business Analyst( I know I will enjoy this work)

Thanks

What ever training you take up your chances will remain same as you have less experience. So as you add more gap to your resume learn more skills and add more to your resume.

Always its hard to get job when you dont have job. Its easier to get another job when you have job.

You can try something like Netweaver in SAP which will increase you chances of getting job.

Datawarehousing I dont see much jobs at this moment. Moreover you should be good in database skills for that.

About BA I am not sure what exactly you do as BA.

I suggest you taht you can take up the training, but dont stop trying jobs on Java. The job market is good for java definitely you will get job. The training will add more value to your resume.

Thanks KJ.

What do you think about QA?Are there lot of growth opportunities in this field? are QA analysts in demand now?
There are consultancies providing training and placement in QA/BA/SAp etc. I'm not able to decide on this.

I feel SAP and java have more opportunities compare to other fields. I wont belive much in training and placement. Just cross check before you join.

What kind of training they provide for BA?
