I searched previous posts it seems it is not good company (many prev posts gave bad remarks)

I am fresher from India (BE in Comp Sci) also SCJP.
they have 2 yr bond and sal is less (1.7 lac p.a.)
and they may send one anywhere Mumbai, Banglore etc.

any information about company what kind of work they do,
is it worth taking or wait for other oppurtunity.

(I got bad mpression as in interview after knwoing about scjp they asked features of OOP).

what is advice?
looking at current market will I be able to find other good oppurtunity and not to take this (find some small comp where there is no bond so that if you get good opp you can switch).

or take it.

As per industry standards their sal is less.

If you dont have any other opportunities better to take up.

I didnt understand this. But I dont think its bad asking on features of OOP. I do ask this question even the person having scjp and having lots of experience. I dont understand whats wrong in it.

In interview if some one is asking simple question means there will be some reasons like:
- Start from simple questions and then based on your answers go further asking more based on your answers.
- its gives chance to evaluate your communication skills by testing how simple you can explain a simple thing. When I took some interviews I observered that: few people finds it very difficult to explain a simple concept. They know the things but couldnt able to put in words, which may create problem if the person interacting with clients if he cant express his ideas.

So you shouldnt feel bad if the interviewer asks you some simple questions. Its after all testing how you will fit to the job.

Its purely dependent on your confidence level.

Personally I feel that you should take up. Getting first break is very very difficult. Once you gain experience its not much difficult as first break.

thanks KJ,

yesterday I got call from CGI he asked me that you have Sun Cert I said yes
I have to go for test and interview any idea on that?

what shall I do, I am selected at MphasiS but 2 yr bond 1.7 lac sal p.a.
I have test/interview at CGI on same day when I have to join MphasiS.

people say 2 yr is long? what you say?
do you think if I do not go for MphasiS and somehow even dont get CGI I can get other job in say 1 to 2 months time as per my credentials I am SCJP(96)+BE in Comp engg.

I know it is diff to say but where do you think I can built career in java/j2ee CGI / MphasiS do you know in which tech they work.

pls reply one final time, I would be grateful.

Jony,

AFAIK, for freshers any big company asks for minimum 2yrs bond. There might be exceptions.

On the other hand, small companies usually doesnt ask for bonds.

Know what you want and decide.

If you can get into Mphasis, its not that difficult to land in other offer.

Thanks
-Suresh

CGI should be better than Mphasis. But I am not sure how CGI is doing now a days. But recent days Mphasis growth is not much as they expected and when you compare other Indian companies in same ranger like iGate, Polaris etc.,

Definitely 1.7 lac is not a good deal. When you had cracked mPhasis interview it shouldnt be a big deal lfor you to cract other interviews.

For fresher 2 yr is not too long. Even it is required for you to stay atleast 2 years in a company. Moreover as you are fresher company is going to put some investment interms of time and money. It takes atlest 6 months to one year to train you and make you to pick up a project. So first 6 months to 1 year you wont be productive for the company. So nothing wrong if they expect you to stay for 2 year.

I am ot in postion to tell you yes or no for this. But having BE in comp engg(if your percentage is > 60%) you have lot of chances to get interviews from lot many other companies. Lot of companies recruting freshers like infosys, tcs, wipro, ibm etc.,

I am not sure which technolgies they work, but I know they have lot of projects in Java/J2EE .

Finally if you are ready for risk you can leave MPhasis offer and try for others but think twice on your decisions so that you shouldnt regret tommorow.

KJ thanks again,

I am BE with 66% aggregate Mumbai Uni.
Final advice shall I wait for some time (for comp) where there is either no bond or bond but with better sal
or
Start with MphasiS.
do you think SCJP (96) there are chances in other companies say in 1 month or so (with either bond+good sal or NO BOND).

Why you think MphasiS interview cracking is diff (I found it was simple, he just asked me 2 qsts). First when he saw 2 sun Cert. they were happy. they were very young actually.

The average salary for freshers in India is 2 to 3 Lackhs per annum. Most of the companies falls in this range. I guess many companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Satyam have bond.

I didnt say Mphasis interview is difficult, I mean to say when you are able to get one job getting another job may not be much difficult.
