StaleConnectionException

I am running my application in Websphere 5.0 and using Oracle 9.2 DB. Sometime I get StaleConnectionException. Is there any workaround how to fix this? Can I check the connection object, before I use it?
Please help.

Sanjeev,
You can try doing the query again. Often it works the second time.
