I've got the tip from a friend that attending a java conferance could help me get a job as developer (right now I'm unemployed and have no work experience). He suggested Javapolis... but im not convinced that people and business that are attending such a conferance is very interested in meeting candidates, but rather showing off their new products. Am I wrong? What do u ranchers think about it?
Conferences are sometimes used to recrut. I don't know anything abot javaopolis, but at most conferences, recruiting is not the primary reason for going. The job leads tend to be more network oriented rather than direct recruiting. That said, I do know people who have gotten jobs at conferences. he question is, is the expense of a conference worth it?
