BLOB versus clob

I have a TreeMap which I need to store it into the Database. I am right now using BLOB datatype by serializing the TreeMap. Could anybody suggest if we can use CLOB instead of BLOB?

No, I think you're doing the correct thing using a CLOB. There is binary data in a serialize Java class and you don't want the DB doing some character conversion for you when you least expect it.
