i have a MSc degree in Software Tech,from Germany and a Bachelors in Computer Science Engineering, from India(Madras Univ with 70%).I have 1 year experience in J2EE(includes a 6 month MSc project in J2EE, and a 6 month project with Lufthansa,Germany) and 6 months of Eclipse plugin development (with Lufthansa,Germany)...overall I have gained 1 year of domain knowledge in the Aero-space domain,How much of a salary can I expect in India... sorry for the double post, overall experience is 1.5 years (1 year in J2EE and 6 months in Eclipse plugin development)...I have a spoken command of 2 European languages, namely French and German.
I guess something around 600,000 is what you should be pretty happy with in a good product based company. You can get that depending on how good you are technically. I am talking about Pune, since I work there.

Not all companies will pay you that much.

I'd say don't go for "all" companies? Looks like you have good education background. There are companies who do value your education background. People with masters' degree from a good outside institution are not found easily in India. I know people who did their masters from US wihtout any prior experience and have got very very good offers. If your resume is strong and if you can bring something different that can add a lot of value to the products, you can get a very good offer. Check out for Veritas, Amberpoint, Paramteric, T-Systems, Sybase. But those in Poona.
