which connection pooling to use?

Anyone have recommendations on Oracle 10g's connection pooling over Tomcat 4's?

Basically, I want to know if I should just keep it simple by using the Apache Commons Datasource connection pooling with Tomcat 4 or if I might as well go ahead and use the OracleDataSourceFactory...

I'm a little frustrated because Sun spells out some standard parameters here:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/jdbc/getstart/datasource.html#999708

However, the Tomcat site doesn't really have documentation on the OTHER parameters you can have for a DataSource here:
http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-4.1-doc/jndi-datasource-examples-howto.html

Also not here:
http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-4.1-doc/jndi-resources-howto.html

I'm talking about maxWait, maxIdle, etc, not password or description, etc.
