What are the parameters we will consider before selecting the driver type(Type1 (or) Type 2 (or) Type 3 (or) Type 4) ?

Hmm.

Type 1 - only if you really really have to.

Type 4 - almost always used if it is available and 'fully implemented'.

Type 2 and 3 - used if Type 4 is not available, and depending on which is available and has better functionality.

Just off the top of my head.
