Hello All,

I want to know how the J2EE Developer market in Australia? Is it easy to get a Developer position in Australia? I have 2 years experience as J2EE Developer and got SCJP 1.4 with a good mark. Is there any chance for me to get a job there?
Thanks.

Things appear quite strong at the moment. I base this on the fact that companies usually quieten down over the christmas period and none that I know of appear to be resting over the break. Not a very conclusive test, but as a snap-shot it works for me.

Market is very good for Java/J2EE developers specially in Sydney. It becomes quiet during xmas but will pick up again in Jan. A friend of mine visited Syndey for a week from overseas and managed to get 3 interviews within couple of days.

Hi Saliya,

Thanks for your information. But, can you tell me what are your friend's qualifications? How about the salary range there?
Thanks.

Hi

My frined has got more than 7 years of experience of which 3 years in Java/J2EE. For someone with 4-5 years of Java/J2EE can get somewhere around AUS $75K or above. You can check salaries at www.careeone.com.au

Saliya,

Thank you for your information. One more question , did your friend have Australia Permanent Residence? Because I already check www.careerone.com.au, most of the job vacancy listed there require Australia Residence?
Thanks.
