Working in India / 6.5 years of Experience / Technical Lead / Current CTC = Rs 800,000.

I haven't made any job shift in my life...and now I don't know how much salary I should ask for.

Please help.

I think you are paid quite satifactorily. If pay is the only reason to change job then you can expect 15-20% more in major companies. You can get 30-40% also if you struck gold

I think even if you ask for 10+ there will be companies that might be willing to offer you, after all you have a good amt of exp !

WOW!! 6.5 years in one company!!
That's as good as it gets.....try bigger companies and ask for around 12 LPA. If 2 years can get 5 LPA, 8 LPA for 6.5 years is low -- though I think you're in the righ bracket. For 6 years the average is around 8-10 LPA.

Staying 6.5 years in one company is going to be big asset for you. So many companies do prefer to people who are stable at one company for more than 2 years. They are ready to pay more for people like you. So you can expect Rs 1,000,000 to 12,000,000.
