Could someone please suggest a good book for:

(1) SQL & General Database stuff (Java oriented)
(2) UML

I have just completed my SCJP, SCWCD & SCBCD and I am just trying to read some good books to sharpen my skills. I checked out Amazon, but I am not sure which books would really help!

I dont want to Master on these technologies, just that I would like to get a good overview & learn the tip-n-tricks. I am looking for small-mid size books that would be easy-to-understand and from a beginners perspective. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For JDBC, nothing beats Sun's JDBC API Tutorial and Reference.

You can post the UML portion of your question in the OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring forum down below.
