There will be no consequences other than not giving a decent experience certificate or may be withholding some unpaid salary.
Such bonds are illegal and are done only to scare the employees. If they try to threaten you, just say f*** off

Ram is right. But do it if you are frustrated beyond the breaking point. Some of my friends left the company with in 3 months. They were served with a lame and useless notice.

Its very old technique.I thought with more jobs openings in a country this might have reduced!!.problem is attrition rate is very high.Employers are finding various ways like partying, gifting tShirts, distributing sweets etc to retain the employees but don't seem to be working.Employers definitely can't give salary beyond certain limit. The purpose of offshore/outsourcing will fail otherwise. But starting salary has certainly risen in past 2/3 years.Fresher as a tester in Oracle India gets more than 2.5 Lakh /year.
You can sign a bond if you agree with all terms and conditions. But don't give your certificates etc.

Hi Ashish,

Dont worry this kind of bonds are illeagal, no one can do anything if you break this kind of bonds. Only thing is they may not give you an experience letter or may hold up ur unpaid salary. NOTHING ELSE THEY CAN DO ABOUT THIS.

hey..........my bond period is 2 years, failing which i may need to pay approx 4 lacs.........some say its illegal and that the company can't do anything.......but i can't buy that opinion because the company forced us to furnish hell lot of documents, like pay slip of mom and dad, property certificates duly attested by gazzeted officers, etc and signed the bond on Stamp Paper which can be produced in a court of law.........i wanted to be in telecom domain, which at the time of placements, the hr told they have many telecom clients...........but now even after 7 months i,and my frieds, are without projects, leave alone working for a telecom client.....so i want to break the bond
