Linux Security or Java ???

hi...
I am working with the company involved in Security domain and we r providing projects on Internet Threat security.

As a developer i am working on Core Java,JSP,Serlvet,Shell Scriting,Linux Utilities like IPTables,awk,squid,httpd ...most of our business logic is based on networking concepts...

Now i am confused on which way i should go on Java Side or Networking side i m too interested in Netowrking also but in that i m missing the charm of Programming....

On which i side should i develope my skills which will be usefull for me..?

Need help from Industry experts....
