Oracle 9i Installation on Fedora core 2

Hi all,
I tried to install oracle 9i on fedora core2 following the instructions in
i set t
export DISPLAY
when i tried to execute runInstaller for Disk1

got the error
Initializing Java Virtual Machine from /tmp/OraInstall2005-09-14_08-44-14AM/jre/bin/java. Please wait...
Exception Exception in thread "main" java.lang.InternalError: Can't connect to X11 window server using '' as the value of the DISPLAY variable.

can any one help me out please
i exported the DISPLAY variable as oracle user itself
