HI, I was wondering... I'm still learning java... I'm familliar with C/C++ and database connection with PHP. If I use JDBC with an applet... I need to have a host that supports the backend I'm going to use right? Like... If I'm going to use MySQL... The host should also be supporting MySQL? Is that all I need? Could you please give me some free hosting sites where I could practice connecting database with Java(Applets and JSP). Thanks a lot...

Welcome to JavaRanch!

My Java Server is commonly used. THey support databases, but not mySQL though. This list shows free hosting with mySQL. Check the list for which support Java too.
