MetaData question

In the code below I am trying to acquire the COLUMN DATA TYPE from the meta data resultset. This database resides on an M204 database and I have a schema print out from the DBA whereby the mainframe fields are mapped to a sql-column-name. Each has a particular datatype such as INTEGER, CHAR(1), CHAR(30), FLOAT(21), etc. However in the highlighted code I am getting a blank for the column type and not the actual datatype. It would appear that the datatype is blank but on the database it would not appear so.

If anyone has a suggestion or can give me some direction or point out what I'm doing wrong it would be appreciated. Thank you.

Here is my code:

I would work with getColumnType instead...

There is no emoticon for what I am feeling!

Jeff,

Thanks for the reply. That is exactly what I had to do. I wish I knew why the column data type name was an issue.

Thanks again for your response.

Regards.

It just smelled a bit too vendor-specific to me. Didn't think the method would return nothing, though...
