Serious JdbcOdbc bridge driver regression bug

As Mustang (Java 1.6) is in beta several people have now reported a rather serious bug in the JdbcOdbcDriver that ships with it. The bug is essentially that ALL varchar type fields are being padded with nulls by the bridge driver to fill up the length of the field.

If Sun ships 1.6 with this bridge then all JDBC applications that use the bridge driver are in for a nasty calamity. Sun's response thus far is that they haven't done anything to the bridge driver but repeated test cases and simple examples show that is not the case.

Please if you use the JdbcOdbc bridge driver in your applications take a moment to register and comment on the bug report to be found at http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6335589

You need to register with Sun to be able to comment and as well to vote on the bug but I think those few minutes of time would be well spent.

I dont know whether it is Mustang error.I am seeing it even today for PreparedStatement.
Here is a thread on the same topic
http://www.coderanch.com/t/300537/JDBC/java/Inserting-varchar-field-PreparedStatement

The above soln does not work whne the fields are on type nvarchar (supports UNICODE).
