You can get more help if you go to an immigration forum. By the way, are you really employed ? Just asking, because you spend a heck of a time posting all kind of questions.

Welcome back karthik..

People in the forum where really missing your mind boggling questions....

Man you rock man....

Best option would be to go and ask the US Embassy folks..who would instantly give you whatever visa you want

Anyway brief answer to your query
B1-short term work permit visa
L1-Long term work permit visa
H1-b--long term work permit visa..one advantage over L1 is you can show bye bye to Satyam after some days in US...

Employment within the US is FORBIDDEN in B status. A B1 is a business visitor, not a worker.

Cheers!

Sorry for being harsh again, but Karthik, its a WEIRD question. I sometimes wonder what your intent really is.

If you are working in a company and you need to travel, the company who is going to send you will take care of what visa you require and what are the formalities. I dont think any company would ask its employees to go and figure out what visa he or she needs.

Moderator, I smell something fishy again. Please take note of it. If others in the group think otherwise, then its fine. Otherwise I think its time to show a yellow card to Karthik.

I agree with Victor. If your company going to send you for onsite, they will decide on which visa applicable for you. You will never get choice to choose the visa type.

Raghu, small correction. B1 visa is meant for business trips. B1 visa holders are not supposed to work(like coding, testing etc.,) but, it happens some times.

And L1 technically is a company transfer.
