I feel you cant expect more then 50% hike on your current CTC.

Good luck for your interview.

I've given interview at infy few years back, technical interview is easy, one should have good knowledge of SDLC (I can bet this is the question they ask to all the candidates), quality control and basic questions on the technology you are working. Most of the technical questions will be very basic as you have less than 4 years of working experience, besides if you are into designing(UML) also then they can ask you questions about designing use case, components and class diagrams and about the tools you are using(like Rational Rose etc.).

HR round is pretty much formal round they will check your educational background and your attitude. if you have any educational gap you have to give the proper reason and if your career marks are bit low then again provide satisfactory reason, most of the people think that infy is very strict about career marks i.e they dont consider below 60% but if you are able to provide valid reason they can consider you.

One care to be taken at HR round , they may offer you very different job profile than what you might be expecting show your full interest in that job profile, best of luck.

Karthik industry standard is 30%-50% hike in your current CTC, but I think when you will be asked for expected CTC then you should not give exact figure as it can be too low or too high, at Infosys when I was asked for expected CTC I said "It should be according to market standard and should not be less than what my colleagues will be getting".

Karthik,

Infosys working environment is not good...atleast thats what my friends say. Infosys has this irritating culture of working late nights and most of the work comes to you only after 5:00 in the evening. Agreed that most of the Indian companies have this culture of working late nights, but the degree is higher in Infosys. In fact ,it is to such an extent that you will be called on your cell and will be demanded an explanation from your immediate boss (TL or PM) for leaving "early" (even as late as 7:00).
So my personal opnion is stick on to Satyam, until you get an offer from any non-Indian companies (like IBM, i2 etc).

Yes for less than 4 years of experience you have to give written test which comprises of 10 question each question carry different marks. Irecommend reading Shakuntala Devi's puzzle work book for that.

2.At Technical Interview what is weightage of Puzzles nd other stuff ?

At interview puzzles are mainly asked to the freshers, otherwise it will be basic questions on the technology you are working. I dont have any idea what kind of weightage they give to diifferent typeof questions but your selection mainly depend upon your career marks and written test.

Thats the standard 40% hike KJ was right. If you are not happy with the package then you should not join.
They will be putting you in QA department.

Shankar,

Night shift depends on the project you get into. If you are unfortunate to get into some maintenance or support project, then you may have to work in night shifts.

There are some good development projects which involve flexible schedules.
You can as well come at 11:00 A.M. work upto 8:00 P.M. Everything depends on the project you get into.

One more thing Infy is way better when compared to Satyam(notorius for sadistic PL's and TL's)

10 to 15 %. If your rating is very good may be more then 20%.

I guess they wont pay you 4.5 lacs. Your words sounds blackmailing them so, try to negotiate in a better way.
