Were you asked about the reason for leaving your previous organisation in HR interview then you should have have told about this, if not then it is better to inform HR before time that your previous company has shifted their business and they might not response if you do background check.

I am not clear about your question ,but if you are anything misrepresenting about your previous employment(e.g. salary, period with
company ) better to clarify with the HR of the company you are joining , and avoid to leave your present company if you have
any doubt ,in case they come to know anything you are misrepresnting they would immediately terminate your job .
Though I don't think reason of leaving is investigated (In case you are fired due to misrepresentation or any other reason in the past,
I am not sure it would go againist you or not ).
Still it is better to clarify with HR of the company you are joining . Better to be safe then sorry.

All the Best.

Ram

No organisation will do the background check of all the companies you have worked for. The background check will be done for the previous (most recent)organisation.

No need to worry about your first company. If y ou want to be safe side you can to tell the HR(joining company) that your first company changed their name and address, closed their development and now they are just doing training.

As long as your did not told lie, you do not need to worry.

Hi :

As far as I can understand your problem is that one of your previous company which was in development earlier now moved to training
and it has also changed name to something else, also you are saying they your employee id is now being used as a trainer.
Please correct me if I am wrong .

Though there is nothing to worry about it , just for the sake of precaution clarify everything before hand with the HR and go confidently . Still If there is anything which you don't want to discuss publicly feel free to send private messages.

And Last but not least losing any offer is not the end of the world ,this is just start, one thing I would like to tell all the new comer
it is better to think in long term after 3-4 years experience and should not think about salary and other aspect much if you are feeling comfortable in your orgnization and having a decent salary ,don't move just for the sake of brand name and also move slow
and steady, try to enjoy life in other terms instead of just money and work if you are not very techy guy.

I realized this things late in the life . Apart from that read K J Reddy comments sincerely

Cheers

Ram

Sameer, I beg to differ with you. Companies like IBM,Accenture, GE and Verizon do a thorough background check and Reference Check for atleast last 6 to 10 years. You can always get it clarified with the HR Team.

To expand on what Ramasubbhu Allur Kuppusamy said, it also depends on who your new employer is doing work for. In my case (I work for a government contractor), they went back about ten years, which they admitted later they wouldn't have done had it not been a government contract.

As for the prior comments on salaries, I didn't reveal when I was negotiating with my current firm as to what I'd made in my prior positions - the market I was moving from was radically different and so the salary I made there wouldn't be as applicable. HOWEVER, when those situations apply, remember to look up what the going rate is for salary before negotiating.

You do not need to worry if your first company has closed. If you want, you can mention that your first company was closed and you can give references with whom you worked in your first company. But I feel it is not required.
