Hi,
I am having around two years of Experience in Java/J2ee Technology and EMS/NMS(Telecom) Domain.
I got offers from HP Chennai and Sasken, Bangalore.
In Sasken , i will be working in same EMS Domain .
But i dont know which domain i will be working in HP.

In both , i will be getting same salary , same designation etc.

I am confused to select the best one.

Please advice me to select the best as the next step of my Career.

Thanks
Siva

I guess there will no guarantee that you will be working in your domain in HP. But they may try to utlize your expertise. You can always confirm with this with the HR and Project Manager.

I guess Sasken do work only in Telecom domain. So your chances of working in EMS are more. I know few requirements for NMS in Bangalore, if you are interested you can send me a private message and I can send you details.

Yes. I wont work in the EMS domain in HP.
Also I am not interested to continue to work in EMS domain. I want to move to core Telecom domain.

But i am not getting any info about domain from HP now.

Thanks

If you go for companies like HP it is always open, and you may be assigned into any domain. And more over companies like HP do recruit people in bulk for their pool and the do not recruit people based on project requirement. Your assignment will depend on the requirement they have at the time of your joining.

I do not understand your definiton Core Telecom Domain, I guess EMS,NMS also falls under Core Telecom.

I want to work in Layer 2/3 Protocols. EMS/NMS is using application level protocols. For that we are using Java API's.

If I am not specific about domain, can i join HP not sasken ?

I usually prefer working on various domains. Some industries are specific about the domain knowledge. For example: In sydney, I initially worked in the telecom domain for about 2 years and then it took a lot of effort from my part to move into insurance/finance industry. Lot of job agencies knocked back my CV because I did not have any prior insurance/finance industry experience. But eventually, I managed to get into an insurance company and since then have been working in insurence/banking/investment/finance sectors.

You need to find out how HP, Chennai doing and what kind of projects they have? Chennai is center is newly started. In HP is more of services domain related company. They do have projects in different domains, so if they selected you for their resource pool then there will be no guarantee in which domain you will be working.

Sasken is purely telecom company, and they have different clients in telecom.

NMS/EMS are telecom products to manage Network Elements. Many telecom companies like Lucent, Cisco, Nortel have their own products for NMS, EMS.
