you can not use anything else toaccess a database from java application except JDBC
Though good advice to follow, this is not strictly true. You could access a database via another route, if you were that way inclinded. Many databases these days support the TCP protocol for example, so accessing them using this should be possible. After all, JDBC drivers themselves need to connect to the database somehow.

With whatever database access route that other langauge uses (for example C++ might use ODBC). Without knowing the language its going to be hard to help. Though if you are not using Java, you are really posting this question in the wrong forum. [ August 17, 2006: Message edited by: Paul Sturrock ]
