Hi : Does anybody know of a good blob alternative ? I would like the flexibility and speed of client side files with some of the rigor associated with a RDBMS, but not to much because the files are up to 100 MB and I cant risk having slow access times.

Just store that file path into a database.

Yeah - but if you do that, the file can be moved so easily. Is there a way to create or manage a protected file system, possibly one that is protected by a database without being directly a member of the schema ?

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
