Hi Guys,
I am fed up with normal routine work in my current orgaizations. I have worked with Infosys and iflex and didn't find any of these work challnging.
I am looking for the very good opportunity in terms of work assignment.
I am SCJP 1.4.
Even a startup will do.
Suggest me good companies in India or abroad where I can apply
Thanks

If you are still with Iflex try with them only. They should have this kind of projects or may be developing new product.

But finding a prject of type 2 is some what difficult. When you take a big a project there will be very few EJB components which doing most of the work for you. And most of them will be maintained by a senior person who knows the business logic.

For your experience your Project Manager might be scared to give you challengin role and give responsibility in devloping critical components. I can see that you changed 2 companies in your 30 months experience. So suggest you try to stay in company for long time, give confidence to your managers that they can assign you very challenging role and grab a role in any of the challenging existing or upcoming project or product.

I think it is difficult to point out sepcific companies where you get the full satisfaction, It all depend upon your role and the kind of project you get even in the same organisation you can ask for more challenging role instead of jumping from one organisation to other. I suggest whatever you choose pre confirm about your role.

smaller product based organization can offer you a lot of challenging work but you have to forget everything about process

I feel, at initial stages we should have a good exposure to technical stuffs rather than process , etc

If you are looking out only for work and absolutely nothing else then I suppose there are quite a few of firms in Mumbai...though not very large..
Zycus Infotech is one of them.

Companies like egain are mid sized company. They will have many projects and all projects need not to be upto your expectations. So make sure that you are going to work with a project which you are expecting.

Good luck

That's a popular myth -- I work with a very small setup but we do follow processes very religiously. On the other hand, I had a chance to watch work being done in Satyam/MBT/PCS very closely (though I haven't worked there) and I very well know what quality of work they do despite being know as so called "process oriented companies", so I am not buying that one.

If you want to do good work -- being organized, process oriented is essential, and it's ore of an attitue shown by small as well as large companies. Some small/mid-sized companies doing good work in Pune include Mithi, Iopsis, Spiderlogic and big ones like PSPL and Veritas. Though last two do lot of good work, it purely depends on the project or group you're working in.

Hello All

I agree with Manish Hatwalne .

It is not necessary that small companies dont follow processes.

and yes you have also pointed out the companies in Pune correctly

Even I have heard of Iopsis in particular.I guess its somewhere in Koregaon Park.

Just one more thing.

I was working in veritas for 1.5yrs and hence I know the work culture there.
You will not find such an awesome company.

You only need to be sure of what project because as you said change of project in big companies is not easy.

I need some help on Ketan Khairnar regarding web services.
I am currently working in a sofware consulting company where we need to build a portal where one of the portlet will be a google searh portlet

Google Search provides a web Service Definition Language File(WSDL)which is to be used some how which is what I am not sure

Since Ketan Khairnar has mentioned that he wants to work on web services and similar stuff, may be he may have some idea.

We are using BEA weblogic Portal 8.1 for accomplishing the task

In case you have some idea, please let me know

Thanks and Regards

Check the Sun developer site to develop JSR 168 to access the Google Web service.

HI Raj,

Thanks for the link to http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/portalserver/reference/techart/portlets.html

Actually I have already seen this link but this link explains the procedure using the Sun Studio.I was looking to accomplish the same with BEA weblogic

Anyways thanks for the link.

For Mr.Patil-->

There are a lot of J2EE projects in veritas but being a very big organization, i am myself not aware of the nature of the projects.

Since I was in the tech support department anyways, I would not want to misguide anyone with incorrect info.

One thing that is for sure is that Veritas is not a project based company
Hence the projects that exist are for internal R and D work

Regards

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
