Hi All,

Is it a right choice to move from Wipro to Satyam?

I request you to provide your views/opinions on this.

Hi,

My friends in Satyam say that it's a poor paymaster and work is just okay. Mind telling your experience/job profile ?

Shreya, I do not see much difference to Wipro and Satyam. Satyam should be more safe place when it comes to job security, but that should not be a factor in current job situation.

I didnt get any update on IBM till now.So I just left it.

I got offer from HP for 4.2.But as the pay is less and since the location is Blore I didnt accept the offer.

Iam planning to move to Satyam.

hi Shreya Sri

Please dont join Satyam .

There is nothing happening in satyam. No projects at all .

Many are in bench .

After all you will not enjoy anything in Satyam.

Please join HP than satyam.

I dont know about job security in satyam. But, in wipro it is guranteed. Also, staying in bench is not the thing happening only in satyam alone. It happens every where till the company bids, acquires projects and assigns for us.

If you get HP or IBM offer, please go for it.

IMHO, you should avoid Satyam -- Wipro comparatively is a much better company.
If not IBM or HP, do try Infy or stay with Wipro a bit longer, opportunities are plenty these days!

Oh, that's because the way I have been give to understand about Satyam work culture and their work. Satyam generally is a pretty restrictive company...At one pint I believe they could not even get mails from outside, could not acces Internet-- I hope things might have changed by now.

One positive point with Wipro is their marketing is very aggressive and they could able to bag many projects in different areas. But Satyam does not have that strong marketing.

On the whole, wipro's policy is flexible than many other companies. If it seems strict, it may be because of the strict PM or strict client policies in projects.

Is internet not available in wipro? . It's not wipro blocks the internet, it's because of some client requirement to block internet usage for securing project.

Only few clients are strict like that. Otherwise, wipro is good.

I think that you hate wipro because of your strict client or strict manager. If possible try changing client account than changing company.

I totally agree with Vikram

Shreya Sri , do understand ....

We all are here to advise you good thing .....

Please don't join Satyam at all at any cost ......

If you are getting married or already married been pregnant ... looking for good rest with pay coming to you .. Then satyam is best . But not career growth at all...

Vikram , which circle do you belong ... i think corcc
All the best.

Not sure why many so many bad things abt Satyam.
Anyway this is my 6th year with this company.
Bench period was there in the beginning but that lasted for 4-5 months after that never got a chance to be on bench

Onsite opportunities are good. Initially I was in singapore for 18 months and now in US from past 18 months and will be here for another year and more. They will send you onsite as soon as they have a requirement there is no criterira for that (like waiting for a year or so).

Yes, paywise its not good but it has got good J2ee projects and also job security is there.

This is just my experience with satyam but now I am also looking for a change as its been long I am with this co.

Hi Shreya,

I would suggest you to go ahead. Like I said, thats an oracle practice group and its a place where you will get very good growth.

Moreover you will hardly get a chance to stay in India, their majority of associates are placed at onsite in different countries.

Thats the reason I mentioned that this is the group in Satyam where everyone wants to be as you get to travel and also get a good growth.

Thnx,
Afroz

fortunately i am also in same circle and attended trainings one after the other ,but no project and my bench period is now more than 5 months. may be a fresher has to spend more time on bench then experience people, but right know what i know is that my precious youth time is getting wasted here.

Hi Shreya,

First let them offer you...say X amount and Y designation. Now the thing about thier offers is that they keep some 'room' for negotiations as they don't want to lose the candidates after 7-8 rounds of interviews (it's like if you are able to cross so many rounds, you are 'certainly' good ).

So, once the HR person tells you that are you okay with this X and Y...ask for a bit more (10%-15%) and justify by giving some good reasons (competing offers, your skill sets etc....but be polite .

I guess CA can definately better the Satyam offer.

All the Best!

Hi Shreya,

Finally, what did you decided? Are you going to join in Satyam or in CA?

Cheers,
Ganesh.
