I am connecting to access database using my java program.
When i do the same thing in oracle i got the name of tables using
"select * from tab" command. But what to do in access if i want to get the same result? Please help...

This is system table which oracle uses to store table names.Instead of using DB specific futures, JDBC supports DB independent way, Like finding database information use " DatabaseMetaData" interface. you can find databse version, name of the driver used to connect to DB, getting primary key of particular table etc.,
