Can anybody tell me
how to connect jdbc with oracle 9i database using all 4 types of driver?

Is there any book or material available for JDBC for beginners?

We have a number of FAQ pages about JDBC, starting here. Particularly the link to the Sun JDBC tutorial on the GeneralJdbcQuestions page would be interesting to you, as well as the various "What's new in JDBC 2/3/4?" articles linked on the same page.

The JdbcLinks page links to Oracle 9i-specific material.

Fist of all you can use oracle driver with jdk 1.5 or jdk 1.6
First of all try to change classpath:
1. remove c:\oracle\ora92\jdbc\lib\classes12.zip;
2. change classes12.jar ojdc14.jar
Second:
jdbc:oracle:oci8:@tcp1105008:1521:oradev01 - uses oci driver, oracle client should be installed on client. I think where is small bug here it should be:
jdbc:oracle:oci:@tcp1105008:1521:oradev01

I prefer to use thin version (we had huge problems with oci driver for oracle 9.2), try to change just connection string:
jdbc:oracle:thin:@tcp1105008:1521:oradev01
