Some companies don't wanna use postgres because they don't have a support contract like you can get with some of the commercial products.

I am now doing some work for an outfit that is okay with postgres provided they can get a similar support contract from a third party. Anybody have experience with anything like that?

EnerpriseDB does commercial version of postgresql, so you can get contract from them

I just made a wild guess that www.postgresql.org would take me to the main postgres site. Then three clicks later I was looking at a list of companies that provide Postgres support.

But which one is good? Which one will make the people that sign my checks say "That Paul Wheaton guy sure is good. I think we should pay him more?"

I know a guy is super good on PosgreSQL and many other databases. If you are interested, shoot me an email. I can introduce him to you. Then you guys talk.
